Providing for the Disabled

The market for accessible tourism is a sizeable one. There are around 11 million disabled people in the UK with a combined spending power of £50 billion. There are also 10 million people over 65 in the UK. (source Tourism for All).

So attracting this market makes sense financially, and also ensures you meet your legal obligations.

If you provide any sort of accommodation, serviced or self-catering, the Equality Act 2010 applies to you (this act replaces the Disability Discrimination Act).

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has online information as does Tourism for All.
