Recipes

Being creative and practical does not always go together. Finding recipes to suit all tastes and dietary requirements can be time consuming yet it is part of customer care. The sites listed below have all been visited and should help you accommodate most dietary situations

The following sites provide a range of suggestion from breakfast to a full menu. The listing is not comprehensive but does cover popular and special diet sites.

BBC Food Recipes www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/
Excellent site, with a range of recipes from all the top UK chefs. Easy to search and print off recipes.

British Meat Recipes www.meatmatters.com
Enter the menu section through the link on the left of the home page. Easy to use and print off recipes

Food Wales – Recipes www.foodwales.com/
The True Taste site - essential for Welsh dishes- printable recipes – at present you can only download these as a PDF file

A site selling the G.I. Cookbook but with some sample recipes

Vegetarian Society site, specifically for the catering industry. Follow the recipe links for 600 to search from.

Many recipes for vegans

Vegan- Pam Rotella www.recipes.pamrotella.com/
A dozen vegan recipes

Sainsbury's www.sainsburys.co.uk
Good site with wide range of search choice. Click onto recipe search in the left hand side bar. All recipes can be printed.

Diabetes - www.diabetes.org.uk (Click on Guide to Diabetes and follow the link.)
The British Diabetes site which gives a 100 free recipes for those with diabetes some of which are also suitable for gluten free and vegetarian diets.

Organic - www.soilassociation.org
The Soil Association site features an organic recipe section. You can only access this by registering (it is free). Click onto Organic Living and then onto recipes on the right of the page you will then be asked to register. Once registered you can search their database of recipes.

Gluten free - www.glutenfree.com
Many gluten free recipes, which can be downloaded or viewed on the site.

Always ask customers before they arrive whether they have any special dietary requirements for example gluten free, vegetarian, vegan or diabetic – this can save embarrassment and allow you to do some on line research
