TV LICENSING

Not having the correct licence for your business could result in a hefty fine. This section of the website provides you with information about television licensing.

The TV Licensing Authority advises you take out a “hotel” license if you are providing televisions for guests. They define a hotel as including holiday villages, caravan and camping parks as well as inns, guest houses and hotels. The ‘hotel’ license covers you for up to 15 rooms and costs no more than a domestic TV license. An additional fee is then charged for each additional 5 units or less. The fee can also cover yourself and any staff, if you have provided the set.

For further details contact the TV Licensing Centre by telephone on 011709219321/9219330 or via their website (Link to: www.tv-l.co.uk). On the web site click onto TV Licence Information and then click onto Hotels, Guest Houses and Campsites on the left hand menu. There are detailed guidelines to help you at this point.
